Points Plus Change A professor was giving a big test one day to his students. He handed out all of the tests and went back to his desk to wait. Once the test was over the students all handed the tests back in. The professor noticed that one of the students had attached a $100 bill to his test with a note saying “A dollar per point.” The next class the professor handed the tests back out. This student got back his test and $64 change. North Central
New Mexico's Events June 2004 Summer series of public exhibits at the Espanola Public Library. This is in conjunction with the statewide summer reading program “Readiscover New Mexico”. For the month of June the public is invited to view “Shady Ladies of the West”, an exhibit revealing that prostitution was one of the only opportunities single women had to sustain themselves and settle in the 19th century West. All exhibits will fill the display case in the library with interesting and colorful books, photographs, text and other archival materials relating to these southwestern themes. Tybie Davis Satin Gallery, Santa Fe Public Library 145 Washington Ave. in Santa FeThe public is invited to view a solo exhibition of colorful, non-conceptual paintings by Santa Fe artist Janet Carney. Ms Carney has lived a voluntary simplistic lifestyle in Santa Fe the last 14 years, including using her bicycle as sole form of transportation. She was found several weeks later and delivered to a local wildlife rescue operation known as ‘The Wildlife Center’ for treatment. Unfortunately, her severely damaged leg had to be amputated, but thanks to the skilled and loving care she is receiving, she up and walking again though she can never be released since she can not hunt for herself. The Wildlife Center which is located near Espanola, New Mexico operates strictly on donations. All donations to “The Wildlife Center” are used to help orphaned and injured animals.
